Ta Da! Project 3

This is mine and J Lucy's final video. We ended up calling it "Elle Tournoie" (french for "she twirls") because other names couldn't really incorporate every aspect within the video that we were addressing and the one constant is the twirling figure.

Dream Video Research

I did a little bit of research into some videos and the different techniques I could use. I saw a program on BBC called "Concrete Circus" a few months ago about extreme urban sports and there were different directors for each of the urban sports. I really liked the director that did the BMX rider, it almost has a dream like quality so I found it again. I realize I'm restricted in how I can digitally modify the footage, but I was wanting to get a few ideas about angles/ color schemes and shifts that I find interesting. I also found a couple stop motions that I thought were cool and I think I'll incorporate at least a small element of stop motion in my film, but I'll have to wait until I plan it all out and see where I want to take it!

I quite like certain elements of the music video (not necessarily the music aspect) but I thought it definitely captured moments of being in a dream state, where certain themes of reality were visible but other aspects aren't quite right, or couldn't happen with the laws of nature as they are etc.

This last video inspired us the most, it had a lot of ideas and concepts that we were wanting to quite a few of our ideas stemmed from here. Such a cool video!
