I was assigned to design the t-shirts for our pledge class, as the token Digital Arts major :P This was voted for for the final design:

Project 4: Final Output

These are my final images. I quite like that they are not perfectly neat (which is unusual for me to have a final piece that isn't as neat as it can be!) because it kind of reflects the issue I'm exploring; just like the criminal justice system has inherent flaws, so does the patterning system describing it. The stamps took FOREVER. So many fiddly and detailed bits. Totally worth it though!

(There was another piece, but apparently that got lost. Oh well, same concept, different color scheme.)

Narrative Compositions

I had to do a couple more random pieces that "told a story".

This was the best comment I got for it. LOVE IT.

Charcoal Narrative Project

We had to tell a story using objects and drawing still lives with charcoal. Naturally, I chose my Union Jack Rubber duck and duck umbrella.

Lalalala I'm a duck minding my own business.
Another dude shuffling along.

Mwahaha she'll never see me.
Evidently I do, because you keep getting larger.

Damn. I wasn't wrong.

Excuse me for a second, my ego can't take this.
GRraaksdjfmhmmpp!!
So.much.effort. It WILL be worth it.
Phew! Now I'm taller than you. Ha.

*Poof*
I don't think we can be friends.

Black and White Design to be Printed on Products

And guess who won the prize for best design?? Yesmate. Well, actually I drew with another guy. We were given a little sketchbook and a pen. He was very gentlemanly and gave me the sketchbook and kept the pen :) Here are my thumbnails/ idea collages, and then my final. Because I'm blonde I had completely finished the design before I realized it was an inch short on one side, but you can't have everything.

Printout of a section of my process drawing over the top of a black ink background, bordered by ink splattered tracing paper and masking tape.

Ink drawing, then charcoal on tracing paper over the top with a couple bits of masking tape.

Black ink with tracing paper over the top and white chalk.

Black ink, white chalk over the top, then tracing paper over the top with black fine liner.
Final

And this was the "process drawing" I did that I based all of the above on. I got a bit carried away with it and it's about 6 times as big as these little squares. Oh well.

Drawing Week 1

Drawing 1 - First class we had to bring in an organic object. I had a fern and some sort of cool branch thing that I drew. Our assignment was to take an element from three of our drawing and create 3 more pieces in any way we wanted as long as there was some connection. Naturally I went straight to Photoshop and came up with these. I think I'm going to submit the first, third and fifth one.

Video REDONE

Here's the video I did for my last project last term, but I vamped it up with some digital editing.
